Hi, I’m Silas (he/they).

I’m a trans and queer writer and artist who grew up in southern California.

After struggling with reading for years, I was diagnosed with dyslexia in 2012. Luckily my parents had found a reading and spelling program specifically to help people with dyslexia. Although after a couple years reading was much less of a struggle I didn’t read much besides what was required for literature classes when I got to high school. Then, in 2022 I watched Heaven Official’s Blessing with a friend and although I had promised I wouldn’t read the books until the show was over, the author had other books that I picked up immediately. After that I was reading constantly, I always had a book with me.

My favorite genres are fantasy and queer horror, but as a historical costuming nerd I also enjoy a good historical setting (if its done well). Some of my favorite books (in no particular order) are Swordcrossed by Freya Marske, Hell Followed With Us by Andrew Joseph White, and the Dark Rise trilogy by C S Pacat.
